Greg Hatcher is a 1983 graduate of Alma College. Hatcher graduated with a major in public relations. Following graduation from college, Hatcher coached one year of baseball for Notre Dame University before going to work for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield as a sales representative. In his first year he led the company with the most insurance groups sold. In his seven years at Blue Cross Blue Shield he was awarded Account Executive of the Year six consecutive times. After seven years with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Hatcher started his own insurance agency, The Hatcher Agency.

The Hatcher Agency was started on September 1, 1990 based on the premise of “Outrageous Service.” The Hatcher Agency’s mission was to deliver “Outrageous Service” to customers doing virtually everything at the customer’s convenience versus the company’s convenience. In The Hatcher Agency’s first year in business, it grew from one employee to seven employees. Only three years later his agency was named Arkansas’ Small Business of the Year by Arkansas Business newspaper. Every year since he started the agency Hatcher has been the top producer of health insurance business in the state of Arkansas. He is the only agent in Arkansas to be awarded the prestigious Golden Eagle Award seven consecutive years, which recognizes the top twelve insurance producers in the United States.

The book 55 Steps to Outrageous Service explains how Greg’s attitude led to the formation of one of the most successful agencies in America in such a short period of time. Hatcher spends a lot of time serving his community as well. He has served as the Chairman of the Board for the Arthritis Foundation in the past. He now serves on the Boards of the Baptist Medical Foundation, the American Red Cross, and the Little Rock Boys Club. He is a member of the Little Rock Rotary Club and coaches two YMCA Soccer teams and one YMCA Basketball team each year.
